From the 1930s, a very large compact of sterling silver in a tricolor woven pattern. Interior has a large mirror on one side (you can actually see your face/hair in this one!) and a screen-covered well and puff for your loose face powder on the other.

Shown and described on page 59 of Compacts and Smoking Accessories by Roseann Ettinger.

Labels: Evans, Sterling

D. Evans & Company made compacts of all shapes, sizes, materials, and finishes between 1920 and 1960. They are highly collectible.

Materials: sterling silver, mirror, fabric puff and mesh screen

Condition: there's some wear to the tri-color treatment on the exterior. the hinge has three sections and the last of these has a turned-up bit. this doesn't affect use or detract from the overall appearance. it's likely fixable with a small pliers, but we didn't want to risk doing damage. the interior is clean and ready to fill with your own loose powder. we'd recommend washing the puff before use. we have not polished the case.

Dimensions: 4.75"/12cm in diameter, weighs 6.1oz/173g

Our items are not newly manufactured "vintage style" pieces. They are true vintage, at least 30 years old. Please read condition report provided above.
