Beautiful little vintage handbag of unsurpassed quality.

  • Rich black satin with silver-tone hardware.
  • Interior has a single open pocket, and plenty of room for all your essentials, including a smartphone.
  • Authenticated for us by a helpful representative of the Judith Leiber company. She provided the following information:

"Mrs. Leiber produced handbags for the Bonwit Teller department store in Manhattan in the 1960s. This particular bag dates from around 1969. The material is a high-quality and durable satin. In terms of rarity, Mrs. Leiber generally produced her bags on a consignment basis in the early part of her career, so she would have produced these one by one, as they were needed/sold. To purchase a satin handbag from our current line would be between $1,500-$2,200."

For the record, Bonwit Teller is one of our all-time favorite stores. In fact, it is where we got the inspiration for our packaging! They attached sprigs of paper violets to their gift boxes.

Label: Judith Leiber for Bonwit Teller

Condition: extremely good. there is what looks to be a teeny bit of separation of the interior lining near the top. minor overall wear, worst at the handle as expected, shows that it is not brand new, but there are no flaws.
