Such a fun and funky hat from the very early 1940s. Gray wool felt has rounded brim covered in green-into-taupe feathers. High, slightly conical crown has pleats for shape and a slim self-fabric bow at back. Interior grosgrain band, and knotted threads further shape the crown. From the very early 1940s and the Lisa C. living estate.

Its purpose was to advance the sales of dresses and clothing made in New York by promoting the city as the fashion center of the country. The New York Creation label was used to identify the products of members.
