50s White Organdy Over Blue Party Dress

Sorry, this item has sold.

From the 1950s, a confection of a dress in crisp white organdy over periwinkle blue (hinting toward purple). A profusion of pintucks and fine lace decorate the nipped-waist bodice and extra full skirt (the blue lining is a full circle, the overlay is not). The straps are wide enough to hide your bra. Closes with a metal zipper and hook&eye. For the unconventional bride, it's something old and something blue rolled into one.

We show it with and without an additional crinoline, not included. It is quite full even without one.

Labels: only a size tag remains (do not use that to judge fit as vintage sizes are quite different than today's sizes. please see measurements provided below)

Fiber/Care: white cotton organdy over solid blue cotton, likely gently washable but we'd recommend dry-cleaning

Condition: bodice was taken up and in with tucks, which could be released with a few snips to the stitches (see photo). there looks to have been a tulle petticoat attached, now gone. a few pinholes and scattered spots, as shown. dress is bright and clean, but we suspect the last vestiges of time-related yellowing will lift completely with further, targeted cleaning.

*This dress is clean and ready to wear.*
