From the early 1900s, a darling dress for a petite woman, teen, or tween. Softest, semi-sheer white cotton crepe gauze with floral embroidery, and exquisite lace trim. V-neck front and back, wide straps, short sleeves, shirred empire waist with snap closure at back, ruffled hem. One of several beautiful antique items from the Fleming estate.
Labels: none, but the original owner's name is printed on the interior of the skirt placket
Fiber/Care: no tags, cotton, gently washable
Condition: strong and sturdy. we've pinned it closed at top back for some of the photos, and it will need a few snaps or hooks and eyes (or you can use a brooch or other temporary closure) to be wearable. glitches include a few teensy old repairs that don't show at all, a few typical weakened or worn spots (tiny), and a few smudges and spots (the worst are shown in the photos), as well as an area of minor discoloration at the lower front bodice. we did give it a good soaking and a gentle wash, but the marks may lift with targeted treatment.
*This antique dress is freshly laundered and ready to wear.*
empire bodice: 11"/28cm
bust: too big on 9-yr-old model, fits 33.5"/85cm Cecelia the Dress Form nicely
at empire waist seam (under bust): 29"/73.5cm
hips: maximum 48"/122cm
