Exquisite example of the prototypical bias-cut "Hollywood Starlet" negligee. Luxurious, shimmering silk in a creamy white with cream cotton lace trimming bodice and forming fluttery little cap sleeves. Empire seamed bodice with additional applied lace below bust. Strategic seaming and self-fabric ties enhance the figure-flattering effect. Flowing, slinky skirt with slight train and godet inserts at scallop-front, lace-trimmed hem. Pinked seams. Absolutely gorgeous. From the 1930s or 40s, and the Charlotte M. estate.
