70s/80s Professional Romantic Ballet Tutu Giselle

From the late 1970s or early 1980s (I wore it in 1981, and it was not brand new at the time), a professional, romantic-style "Willis" tutu from the full-length ballet Giselle. 

• Hand-made, high-quality costume from a professional ballet company. This is not a student, practice, or amateur costume
• Wings and fluttery shoulder details were removed long ago (not by me, I protested their removal)
  
• Boned bodice, lace panty, 3-layer tulle skirt
• Closes in back with heavy-duty hooks&eyes alternating with hooks&crocheted loops
• Corps de ballet dancers' names written on interior side seam (concealed for privacy in listing photos)

Labels: none - handmade by the professional dance company seamstress or tailor

Fiber/Care: high-quality synthetic and blend materials / gently washable (drip dry) or dry-clean

Condition: Very good, considering its age and that it was worn for performances by several dancers, both professional (see example photo of a Russian ballerina) and one very much not professional (that's me, see second photo). Two crocheted loops replace missing eyes at the closure. A few scattered holes in the tulle layers and interior of the panty, and a few older repairs. Nothing awful or obvious. The elastic straps, which are meant to be invisible, have lost nearly all their bounce, but still do the job. Easily replaced (I'll do it for you for a small fee, if desired). This vintage tutu presents beautifully and feels magical.

 length of bodice, top of cup to skirt/drop waist (straps excluded): 14"/35.5cm
 at bust: 32"/81.25cm with seaming/boning to fit up to 34"/86.25cm
 at waist (midpoint of stitched-down netting, which has some give): 25.5"/64.5cm
 across seat of interior lace panty (could be removed or replaced): up to about 36"/91.5cm
 length of skirt (excluding stitched-down portion at waist): 26"/66cm 
Note that this is not a stretchy modern costume; it is not made with Lycra and has little give except at the panty and somewhat at the waist. It's the real thing. It was custom-made to fit the original wearer.
