Antique Maud Humphrey Framed Print

SKU: 00781-001a

Print of a woman in an 1890s blue dress and bonnet, unaware there are goblins peeking out from behind the tiger lilies.

Please note that a previous owner added the spooky, hand-drawn, black-ink goblins.

We have a pair of these beautifully framed and matted, Victorian-era illustrations. This one is by Maud Humphrey. The other is by Thomas McIlvaine. We are happy to offer a discount if you'd like both. Please inquire.

Maud Humphrey (1868-1940), mother of beloved actor Humphrey Bogart, was a prize-winning American illustrator and a suffragist.

Labels: The artist's signature is on the print, below the lefthand goblin. The print looks very much like an original to me, but almost certainly isn't (I hope not, given it's been altered).

Condition: as noted, the "spooky" elements were added by hand by a previous owner. the frame is sturdy and high-quality, but does have a few age-related dings, as shown in photos. the framing paper at back has a tear. the print itself is in excellent condition.

Dimensions: about 18" high x 14" wide, total, image is about 9.5" high x 7.5" wide

Our items are not newly manufactured "vintage style" pieces. They are true vintage, at least 30 years old. Please read condition report provided above.
