Antique Hair Receivers - Lot of 2

SKU: 00701-003/00805-001

You can use a hair receiver to collect your fallen hair (from your hairbrush, etc.) to stuff into old stockings and bolster your giant Edwardian hairdo (as they did back when) or, more practically speaking, to hold cotton balls or paper clips or whatever else. Here are two lovely examples:

1.  Larger, white with floral and gold trim

  • Marked  "Hand Painted - Nippon" which dates it to between 1891 (McKinley Tariff Act) and 1921. Thus, it's minimally 102 years old.
  • Measures ~4" wide x 2.5" tall.
  • In very good condition with only minor flaws including a hairline crack (doesn't go through) on the lid and a few areas where the paint is rubbed off. Really pretty colors.

2.  Smaller, White with Painted Purple Floral (possibly asters?)

  • Can't date it based on a label, but it's likely from the same 1891-1921 time frame as the other, at least 102 years old.
  • Measures about 3.25" wide x 1.75" tall.
  • Looks like at least one of the painted designs has rubbed off over time. What remains is very pretty.

Our items are not newly manufactured "vintage style" pieces. They are true vintage, at least 30 years old. Please read condition report provided above.
