30s Black Velvet Puff Sleeve Evening Dress With Lace

From the 1930s, a long black velvet dress with all the iconic details of the era:

• Upper bodice of intricate ecru floral lace with touches of sparkle
• Short, puffed sleeves
• No waist seam. Matching self-belt that's fully adjustable (no holes, but stays put)
• Triangular seaming to emphasize the bias cut
• Flowing hemline for lots of slinky swish
• Color is uniformly jet black. Some photos lightened/adjusted to show detail. 
• From my personal collection (in the photo of a person, I'm at a dress-up event)

Labels: none - most likely home sewn with skill

Fiber/Care: no tags, feels like silk velvet and cotton lace - dry-clean only

Condition: This one is about as flawless as a very vintage dress gets. Fully wearable, with extreme care (word to the wise: never, ever twist to reach into the back seat of the car while wearing a vintage or antique dress!). Turning her inside out, I found two tiny holes in the folds of the sleeve puff (see photo). There is one 1/4" break in the lace at the upper back, and a few small spots of slightly flattened velvet, but nothing that stands out. If there are other flaws, you'll have to look closely to find them. I recall replacing the elastic in the sleeves before my event, to refresh the puff. I didn't make it too tight.

 shoulders (extend farther than natural shoulder, as a yoke: 19"/48.25cm
 sleeves (in their puffed state), and dropped from yoke: 5"/12.5cm
 bust: 37"/94cm
 waist: max 35"/89cm
 hip (at 9" below waist): 41"/104cm
 total length (without a body to fill/shorten it): 55"/140cm
 belt is 1.5"/3.75cm wide x 33.5"/85cm long, fully adjustable 

(I measure b35.5", w26.5", h37" and the dress is not falling off, bit the bottom half is somewhat loose. I think a curvier figure would do her justice, as those seamed hips want to be filled out a bit more!)
