From the 1930s, a full-length green velvet sleeveless gown and long-sleeved jacket set with matching belt:
- Luxuriously soft silk velvet in deep hunter green.
- Dress features a soft cowl at the front neckline and deep, plunging V-back, godet inset at center back of skirt creates a slight train. Typical 1930s art deco styling with pointed front waist seam and fitted hips opening to slightly flared hem. Closes with snaps at side placket. Unlined.
- Jacket has pointed long sleeves with single snap at each wrist. Soft lapels. Single button-and-loop closure with large, rhinestone button.
- Matching soft belt.
True, old-Hollywood glamour. Jacket means it can go from church to reception, modest to vavoom. Feels divine. From my personal collection.
Labels: Fashion Originators Guild (in use from 1932-1941)
Fiber/Care: no tags, silk velvet / dry-clean
Condition: Presents beautifully. Close inspection reveals slight crushing and spots of subtle discoloration here and there. the worst (and it's still subtle) is on one side of the jacket (see last photo). one of the belt's snaps has come loose, but you'll want to adjust the fit to your figure, so we're leaving it as is. side placket needs a snap at the very top and an eye for the hook (although the belt and remaining snaps suffice to hold the dress closed at the waist so you can go without).
