A late 1940s or early 50s confection in mauve pink micro-pleated tulle. Boned, strapless, sweetheart bodice is trimmed with delicious velvet fabric flowers. Slightly peaked, nipped waist with attached ruched, iridescent purple cummerbund. Full, tea-length skirt. Closes at the side with a metal Conmar zipper and top hook&eye. Shown with and without a crinoline, not included. From the fabulous Sherman estate.
Labels: none - may have been home sewn, but we suspect it was store-bought
Fiber/Care: no tags, nylon tulle over acetate / we recommend dry-cleaning unless you remove and reattach the flowers to wash and drip dry
Condition: a couple nicks along edge of tulle and teensy spots within skirt folds (see photos)
*We've had this party dress professionally dry-cleaned and it's ready to wear.*
