Late 1940s or early 1950s skirt suit is pretty in purple. Jacket features princess and elbow seams, four covered buttons, long cuffed sleeves, subtle shoulder pads, and a gorgeous bow and rhinestone-embellished detail at each hip. Straight skirt has back kick pleat and metal Jolan side zipper with button tab at set-on waistband. Suit is unlined. Nicely made, with pinked, Hong Kong and finished seams.
Labels: only a bit of illegible tag remains
Fiber/Care: unmarked, most likely a linen-look rayon blend, dry-clean
Condition: this suit came to us with its dry-cleaning tag still attached, but there is some minor discoloration to note. the worst (and the only one we'd call a stain) is at the lower front of the skirt (see photo), and is inconspicuous in daylight. there are two smudgy bits near the left skirt seam. these may lift with future dry-cleaning. the embellishment at the left hip is missing three rhinestones, and our spares were not a good enough match, so we left it as is.
*This suit came to us dry-cleaned. We steam-cleaned it and it is ready to wear.*
