1940s dress of thick, navy blue rayon that feels great and really flatters. Shirtwaist styling with wonderful dress-maker details including red-lined faggoting along the notched collar and turned-back cuffs, bust and elbow darts, gathers just above the back waist for soft shaping, and stitched-down box pleating at the hips. Nine square buttons on the full placket, hook&eye at waist. Shoulder pads. Just as appropriate for work or casual occasions today as it was nearly 70 years ago.

Fiber/Care: rayon, dry-clean only
Condition: Overall, good. There are scattered weakened/faded spots and several very small holes. The largest of them have been darned (see photo). None of these flaws is particularly noticeable when the dress is worn, and they do not detract from the overall beauty of the garment. A few of the buttons have chips in the color. There are belt loops, but the original belt is missing (our modern belt is not included). Price reflects the imperfections.
