These 1940s rayon pajamas are so soft, silky, and lustrous, you'll never want to take them off. Oversized top has short sleeves, four genuine-shell buttons, and a single pocket. Cotton lace trim is soft and supple. Nothing scratchy or itchy here! Palazzo-style pants close at waist tab with two shell buttons. Hip darts at front and back for a trim fit. Pinked Seams. From the "Miss B" estate.
We have a similar pair in light purple with trapunto detail. Contact us for information. We're happy to offer both together at a discount.
Labels: Miss B had many pairs of gorgeous pajamas, all store-bought. Several were nearly identical to these, but were in poor condition. We did not see any evidence that Miss B sewed her own clothes. This 1940s McCall's pattern, however, looks to be a close match. So we just can't be sure whether these were store bought or home sewn. Either way, they were made with care and high-quality materials.
Fiber/Care: extremely silky rayon, washable
Condition: a few minor glitches to note -- small stain on collar, another on the pocket, and another on the pant leg. We gave these pajamas only a gentle washing, and the stains may lift with targeted treatment, although they are quite inconspicuous and do not detract.
*These pajamas are freshly laundered and ready to wear.*
- the top is roomy, but the pants waistband is snug. The buttons could be moved to gain another .5"/1.25cm or, for more room, add a bit of fabric or elastic (neither would show, as the top covers the waistband) -
☞ Our items are not newly manufactured "vintage style" pieces. They are true vintage, at least 20 years old. Please read condition report provided above. ☜
