This 1940s "carpet bag" has an Art Deco style wood frame that closes with a satisfying click as a tiny ball on one side slides into a corresponding groove on the other. Textured tapestry fabric in brown with earth-tone flowers, lined in solid brown satin. No pockets. Front and back are the same. A former owner has added a removable, Contact-paper covered cardboard insert to give the bag a sturdy base and allow it to stand on its own. This unstructured handbag is quite spacious and very comfortable to hold.
