50s Hat - Black Straw With Yellow Velvet

From the 1950s, a calot style hat in gloss black straw with mustard-yellow velvet tubular trim around the crown, ending in a bow at back tipped with faux-pearls. Inner grosgrain band.

Materials: glossy straw appears to be synthetic horsehair, trimmed with rayon velvet and faux pearls

Condition: velvet has some minor spots of discoloration on close inspection. we removed veiling in poor condition.

Dimensions:
underneath measures 9.5x9" (24x22.5cm), inner circumference is 21"/53cm 

This vintage hat sits on the crown of the head and should fit most. Because it doesn't come down over the sides of the head, unless you plan to hold very still, you might want a hatpin or other means such as bobby pins to secure it to your hair.
