Little black sheath dress from the 1950s features short-sleeved surplice bodice with under-bust seam and a partially attached, white ruffled dickey. Defined waist with four decorative covered buttons. Slim skirt with inverted back pleat. Belt loops. Partially lined. Closes at back with metal Mark brand zipper and hook&eye. From local theater Onstage Atlanta.
Labels: only an illegible remnant and size tag remain
Fiber/Care: unmarked, feels like cotton with nylon ruffled dickey
Condition: the dickey's elasticized straps (which close with a hook&eye around your back) have lost their bounce. doesn't matter and won't affect wearability. just tie it as comfortable, tuck the ties into your bra, or snip the ties and tack the dickey to the dress. the original belt is missing, though we'd probably opt to snip the loops and go without (ours shown in the photos is not vintage and not included).
*We've had this dress professional dry-cleaned and it's ready to wear.*
