50s Navy Blue Eyelet Sheath Dress & Slip
Another gorgeous dress from the exceptional wardrobe of Dorothy E. This one, from the 1950s, is a navy blue broderie anglaise sheath with scoop neck, gusseted kimono-cut short sleeves, vertical darts, nipped waist, inverted back kick pleat, pinked seams, taped extra-deep hem, and a metal "double Talon" side zipper. It's unlined and entirely see-through, so you'll want (we'd hope) to wear something beneath. So...
To save you the trouble of finding something appropriate to coordinate, we are including a new old stock (never worn, with original tags) vintage Lorraine navy blue full-slip that is a perfect match in color, size, and style. Slip has lovely sheer details and metal hardware on the adjustable straps. Two for the price of one. My pearl necklace is not part of the deal.
Labels: dress is almost certainly home sewn by Dorothy, slip is by Lorraine Lingerie
Fiber/Care: dress is cotton, slip is nylon, both are washable
Condition: no flaws to note on either piece, although the dress hem was taken up at some point. the slip is brand new and unworn, although we removed the tags to give it a gentle washing.
*This eyelet sheath dress and coordinating slip are freshly laundered and ready to wear.*
