Versatile set from the late 1960s or early 70s. Jet black tunic top and high-waist trousers to mix and match. Sleeveless mini dress tunic top closes in back with off-set full row of buttons, plus hidden snaps on the opposite side (interior) to keep things in place. Perfect over a turtleneck in the cooler months. Pants close at back with a zipper and button-tab. Unlined. Easy care. Union made in the U.S.A. From the Dot S. estate.
Labels: Jane Compton, 1963-'75 ILGWU label. Research indicates Jane Compton Blouses was hiring garment workers at their Kansas City, Missouri, factory as early as 1949. We found no advertisements for Jane Compton, Inc., after 1972.
Fiber/Care: polyester, hand wash (which we take to mean "machine wash gentle, in net bag, hang to dry")
Condition: tiny discoloration spot as shown (only shows under photo lights), and a few spots where the seams are beginning to come apart, but haven't quite done so yet.
