From the 1960s, a gold satin sheath dress with separate overlay richly trimmed in swirling passementerie. Two outfits in one, the slim wiggle dress can stand alone. Sleevelss, scoopneck sheath with piped, nipped waist. Closes at back with metal zipper and top hook&eye. Add the cap sleeve overlay for a whole different look. Also closes at back with metal Conmatic zipper, plus hooks&eyes at top and bottom. Both pieces fully lined and beautifully finished. High-quality vintage, Union made in the U.S.A.
Labels: only the size and 1963-'74 ILGWU labels remain
Fiber/Care: no tag, feels like a very thick and substantial silk satin, but is most likely a high-quality rayon or blend, cotton (or cotton-y) lining. dry-clean only.
Condition: our previous dry-cleaner didn't do the best pressing job on the skirt. there's a subtle horizontal pull just above knee level. there is also an extremely subtle smudge at the upper bodice, which we couldn't get to show up in photos. hem looks to have been taken up .5"/1.25cm at some point.
*We've had this dress professional dry-cleaned and it's ready to wear, although we'd give it a better pressing before the party.*
