This 1960s dress is precisely why we love vintage. Sure, the thing looks fabulous -- simultaneously sexy and demure, in jet black crepe. But what makes it so amazing, and what you just can't get in an affordable modern dress, is how it feels. It is extremely well made, and you can feel that when you put it on. The fabric, the construction, the way it conforms to and somehow perfects the body. If ever there was a perfect Little Black Dress, this is it.

Sleeveless wiggle dress with open V-neck front and back, strategic seaming and darts, and three rows of swishy ruffles at the hem. Fully lined. Metal Conmatic back zip with top hook&eye.

Background information - Mam'selle was a higher-end Seventh Avenue juniors label. They catered to older teens and young women, who could better afford the superior quality reflected in their comparatively higher prices.

Another fabulous item from the living estate of our feisty friend Mrs. H.
