Short-sleeved jet-black dress from the 1970s has princess seaming, A-line skirt, and separate self-fabric belt to tie as you please. Substantial knit fabric does not cling. It's smooth and figure-flattering. Unlined. Closes at back with zipper and a hook&eye at the stand-up collar. We'd wear something under it (full slip or similar) for comfort and modesty. Union made in the U.S.A.
Labels: R&K
Read here about this label, which has been around since 1932.
Fiber/Care: despite the 1974-'95 ILGWU label, we see no content tag. we suspect it's a wool blend, based on the feel, the tiny "nip" in the belt, and the dry-clean only instructions
Condition: we found one tiny nip on one side of the belt. no other flaws to note.
*We've had this dress and its belt professionally dry-cleaned. It's ready to wear.*
