Maxi dress in a bold poppy floral from the 1970s with fold-over turtleneck, sexy cut-in shoulders, and a keyhole back. Bust darts for shape and slimming center seam front and back. Flowing, A-line. Unlined. Closes at back with triple covered buttons+loops and a hook&eye at the neck and a nylon Talon zipper. From the Phelan estate.

(The Chattery was the hip teens' department at upscale Sakowitz department store in Houston, Texas. It opened in 1968. The company disbanded in 1990).
Fiber/Care: smooth, light- to mid-weight polyester doubleknit jersey, machine wash and dry
Condition: no flaws to note. the hem was folded up and hand-stitched at some point (see photo). we're leaving it as is, since it's a lot less work for you to snip a few stitches and let it down to its original length than to have to take it back up!
