This 1970s velvet A-line skirt is almost a full circle. The color is aubergine -- a very dark and rich brownish purple. Very soft and comfy. Two on-seam pockets. Hidden side zipper closure with button tab on set-in waistband. Unlined. Easily accommodates a large crinoline (not included) for a 1950s look, as shown.

This manufacturer of smart clothing for "co-eds" was around from 1950 through about 1983.
Fiber/Care: no tags, cotton velvet, dry-clean
Condition: the back half of the waistband used to be elasticized, but the elastic is completely shot. we've left it in place. It's fine left as is, but you could remove it, replace it, or pull it to reduce the waistband to your desired size and then pin or stitch it in place (see photo). the hem may have been let down or taken up at some point, as the hem tape finishing is a bit haphazard (see photo).
*We've had this skirt professionally dry-cleaned and it's ready to wear.*
Garment Measurements:
waist: currently 28"/71cm, but you could easily adjust smaller (see condition report, above)
length: 30"/76cm
hem sweep: 116"/295cm (very full)
